1. Smoking is NOT allowed.

2. Only registered guests may stay overnight in the property.  

3. By completing the reservation, all guests expressly assume the risk of any harm arising from their use of the premises.

4. The guest will be charged for any damage caused by the guest or visitors to the building and/or furnishings. 

5. Pets are NOT allowed. 

6. Housekeeping :  There is no daily housekeeping service. Linens and bath towels are included in the unit, daily maid service is not included in the rate.   Do not remove towels or linens from the property.

7. Guests should avoid causing noise disturbance for the neighbors.

8. Feminine products and other foreign materials should not be flushed in the toilet.  

9. Open and close the doors carefully.   These doors are antiques and require more care than modern doors. 

10. Do not wear shoes into the house.   Outside shoes should be removed before stepping up from the living room.  

11. The washitsu has tatami mat flooring.  This flooring is made from rice straw to form the core and Igusa straw (soft rush straw) for the covering. The natural material of tatami flooring allows it to stain very easily. Do not place or leave any wet, damp, or moist items on the TATAMI, it will stain.

12. Machiya Lily has a Tsuboniwa  (small Japanese garden measuring approximately 5 square meters). The elements included are a Mizubachi (Japanese water feature) and a Japanese maple tree.  The water feature is on an automatic timer and will turn on three times throughoutt the day.  Do not change the settings for the water feature.  There is no smoking in the garden.
